Year: 2022
Location: Nation Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad
Tools: Blender, Adobe Photoshop
This project was completed under the supervision of Prof. M.K. Uttaman, Dr. Chiranjeevi Reddy and Prof. Kishore Sriram
Project Overview:
This project enquires into the process of being in the state of “flow” through the development of various surface textures and elements inspired by the marine microbial ecosystem into home furnitures and accessories. The question of where does the consciousness go for a swim arises when we lose our sense of self-concept while being in the state of “flow” (also known as optimal experience in positive psychology). The term flow arose from the way many of artists, athletes, and scientists described the experience as being carried along on a current of water, hence, the concept of swimming.

The textures of the microbial ecosystem show the growth of a cell and how it is completely immersed in the activity of expanding, without any sense of self or time until it develops into an animal. That is the only time in our evolution where we were completely in the zone or state of flow for the longest period.
