Project for Second Year, Fashion Trends and Forecasting

Year: 2024

Location: National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad

Tools: Rhino, Blender, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop

The project was completed under the guidance of Prof. PS Srisha, Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories Design

Project Overview:

A design range of three accent chairs was created for SPIN, aimed at transforming traditional views of functional furniture. The concept that form can precede function was explored through playful design and brutalism. Each chair drew inspiration from spatial

puzzles. This approach aimed to redefine accent chairs as interactive pieces, encouraging user engagement and adaptability.

This was done as an academic project for which one of the products had to be developed in the end.

TETRIS CHAIR

The Tetris Chair is inspired by tetrominoes in geometry that can be attached or stacked on each other to form interesting forms. Tetromino or Tetracubes are figures, which are made of four cubes There are eight possibilities. The Tetracubes are called I, O, L, T, N, tower right, tower left and tripod. If you leave out the 1x4 bar and the 2x2 square and add the V-piece with three cubes, you get the seven Soma cubes.
